Two teens wounded in South L.A. gang shooting

Two teenagers with gang ties were wounded in a South Los Angeles drive-by shooting late Thursday night, police said.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. as the 19-year-old and 16-year-old were walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East Gage Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Rosario Herrera.

The shooting is believed to be gang-motivated, she said. The 19-year-old man was shot in the lower torso while the 16-year-old was hit six times in legs and lower body.

Both of the victims were taken to a hospital. No updates on their condition were available Friday morning.
