Twin sisters hit by car in Studio City, one in critical condition
Twin 11-year-old girls were struck by a car Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Moorpark Street and Colfax Avenue in Studio City, authorities said.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded at 1:34 p.m. Officials said the incident was not a hit-and-run.
"They were hit by a lady traveling northbound on Colfax," said LAPD Valley Traffic Division Sgt. R. White. "The girls darted across the roadway, against the red light -- they had a 'Don’t Walk' signal."
The sisters, whose names were not released, were taken to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, White said.
One is in critical condition, and the other is seriously injured, he said.
