Rain expected in region Sunday

Steady rainfall is expected in Los Angeles County beginning Sunday morning and will continue throughout the day with a short break in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Between three-quarters to 1.5 inches of rain are expected in the valleys and coastal region and between 1.5 and three inches in the mountains.

A winter storm warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., with as much as 16 inches of snow expected. A warning is already in place in Ventura County.

Temperatures will be a lot lower Sunday than Saturday, with highs near 60 in the coastal region and in the mid-50s to low 50s in the valleys.
