Pasadena police identify man killed in officer-involved shooting

Pasadena police have identified a man fatally shot by officers late Saturday as 20-year-old Kendrec Lavelle McDade of Azusa.

McDade was shot about 11 p.m. near the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Sunset Avenue, Sgt. John Mercado said.

Officers were responding to a report of a robbery when they saw the man later identified as McDade and pursued him. Police declined to say Sunday whether McDade was armed or to provide any further details surrounding the shooting.
