The Mavericks big-wave surf contest in Half Moon Bay may not happen this year
The Mavericks big-wave surf contest in Half Moon Bay may not happen this year, organizers told the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

The window for the competition will close March 31, and organizer Jeff Clark said the wind and ocean conditions may not be right to hold the contest.

"Although we are hopeful, it does not look like the swell we need for the contest will show before the window closes," Clark said in a statement to the newspaper.
