Lawndale shooting investigated as a possible a murder-suicide

A shooting in Lawndale that left a man and woman dead is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman said Monday afternoon.

A coroner’s investigator is on the scene, according to spokesman Ed Winter. But he said the identities the deceased are still pending and no further information was available.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene in the 14600 block of Eastwood Avenue just before 10 a.m. Monday, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Lillian Peck.

According to the L.A. Times Homicide Report, 36 homicides have occurred within a two-mile radius of Monday's incident.
