Female teacher accused of having sex with boy at Hemet High

A female teacher at Hemet High has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a boy who was a student at the school, authorities said Thursday.

Janel Ramirez, 31, was booked on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said. The student's age was not released.

The alleged sex occurred in December. Administrators at the school contacted the Sheriff's Department on Wednesday to report the incident.

Authorities said the investigation was ongoing and asked anyone with information to call investigators at (951) 791-3400.
