Teens arrested on attempted murder charges after Long Beach fight

March 2, 2012 | 10:31 am

Four suspects have been arrested in the brutal beating of a 15-year-old boy, Long Beach police say.

Three of the suspects, all male teenagers from Long Beach, have been charged with attempted murder, and one female teenager from Lynwood was charged with destroying evidence.

Officers found the victim on the ground on Wednesday afternoon after responding to a report of a fight near the intersection of 10th Street and Ximeno Ave. The victim, a student at Wilson High School, had been confronted and assaulted by the male suspects, who fled on foot after the beating.

The victim, who was hospitalized, and the suspects are all juveniles, and police did not release any of their names or discuss motivations for the assault.

However, police believe others were involved.

“It’s all still under investigation,” said Lisa Massacani, a spokeswoman for Long Beach police.

She asked people with information on the case to call (562) 570-1425 or access an anonymous tip line at Tipsoft.com.

Police are also investigating the death of a 10-year-old girl after a fight near their Long Beach elementary school a week ago.
