Fatal shooting reported on busy Pomona street

Pomona police said there was a fatal shooting Wednesday evening on a main city thoroughfare.

Lt. Mike Keltner said authorities were called at 7:48 p.m. because of shots fired. Officers arrived at 733 N. Garey Ave. to find a victim dead.

Keltner said he could not release the name of the victim and could not confirm whether it was a male or a female.

He said that while the location of the shooting is a residence, it is also a combination commercial area.

No one is now in custody in connection with the attack, authorities aid.
