Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Fontana

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon four miles from Fontana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:30 p.m. PDT at a depth of 6.8 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was five miles from Rialto, five miles from Devore and 46 miles from the Los Angeles Civic Center.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
