Crime suspected in case of woman found dead in parked car

Foul play is suspected in the case of a woman who was found dead in a car parked in a Burbank neighborhood, authorities said.

The body, described as that of a white female in her mid-30s, was discovered about 7:30 p.m. Friday in the passenger seat of the vehicle in the 500 block of North Sparks Street, according to information released by the Burbank Police Department.

Burbank Fire Department personnel were first on the scene and pronounced the woman dead, said Sgt. Mike Parrinello, a Burbank police spokesman.

“After further investigation, it was determined that a crime most likely occurred,” Parrinello said.

The cause of death is unknown. An autopsy was pending Saturday, authorities said. The woman’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities urge anyone with information contact the LAPD Foothill Division Homicide Bureau, which has jurisdiction in this case, at (818) 834-3115.
