Long Beach couple reunited with their missing dog

Long Beach couple reunited with their lost dog

A Long Beach couple was reunited Tuesday with their dog that had been missing for four months, officials said.

The 8-year-old Shih Tzu named Gizmo turned up in Riverside County, where it was brought to a shelter in Jurupa Valley.

The man who dropped off the dog said it was a stray that he got from a "friend of a friend," the Riverside County Department of Animal Services said in a statement.

Officials were able to track the owners, Rodolfo and Gloria Alvarez, from a microchip in the animal.
