California men on gay cruise arrested over sex in Dominica

Two California men on a gay cruise have been arrested for having sex in Dominica, a Caribbean island country where sex between two men is illegal.

The Associated Press reports that the men, ages 41 and 43, were seen having sex on the Celebrity Summit cruise ship by someone on the dock and subsequently arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and sodomy. The exact date and time of the incident was unclear, but the men were not charged. Their hometowns were not released.

The cruise was organized by Atlantis Events, a Southern California company that specializes in gay travel. A spokesman with the company said all employees were on the cruise ship and could not be reached.

The vacations organized by Atlantis are run on Celebrity Cruises ships, and a spokeswoman for the company did not immediately reply to an email or phone message.

The ship left Puerto Rico on Saturday and arrived in Dominica on Wednesday with about 2,000 passengers, the AP said.
