Bank hostage situation might be personal dispute, authorities say

The gunman holding a hostage at a Buena Park bank may be involved in a personal or workplace dispute and not attempting to rob the bank, authorities said.

Saehan Bank, near Beach Boulevard and Los Coyotes Drive, is now surrounded by federal and local authorities. A portion of Beach Boulevard has been closed.

Buena Park police Cpl. Andy Luong told the Orange County Register that the gunman entered the bank shortly after 11 a.m. and ordered customers and employees to leave, except for the manager.

Police are trying to contact the suspected gunman and are planning to bring in a SWAT team, officials said. He had not yet made any demands.
