Arraignment postponed for woman charged with drowning daughters

Arraignment postponed for mother accused of drowning daughtersA South L.A. woman accused of killing her two young daughters appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday, but didn't enter a plea.

Instead, Lorna Valle's arraignment was postponed until April 19, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

Valle is charged with murder for allegedly drowning 1-year-old Lindsay Taque Valley and 5-year-old  Marian Taque Valle in an infant bathtub. Lindsay died that day and Marian the next week.

The girls' father told police he returned home Feb. 15 and discovered that his wife had tried to drown the girls in a tub.

One witness said they heard the father shouting, "My babies! My babies!" Other witnesses said the father had to be restrained as he tried to confront his wife, who was emotionless with an empty gaze.

Prosecutors have not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
