About 5,400 Southern California Edison customers still without power

Southern California Edison restored power to more than half of the customers affected by storm-related outages, but about 5,400 customers were still without power Sunday morning, authorities said.

The outages occurred in areas throughout Southern California, including Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Claremont, Camarillo and Crestline.

Crews continued to work to restore power to the remaining customers but more winds and rain could make that more difficult, said Edison spokesman Paul Klein.

Klein reminded people to stay clear of downed power lines and, if they do lose power, to avoid lighting candles, which can cause fires. He also advised people to be cautious as they approached stoplights without power.
