405 Freeway to close between Seal Beach and Long Beach

405 Freeway closure

A stretch of the 405 Freeway in Long Beach and Seal Beach will be closed for construction Friday night through Saturday morning.

Crews will close north and southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway between Seal Beach Boulevard and the 605 Freeway starting at 11 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m., according to the Orange County Transportation Authority.

When all lanes on one side are closed, a single lane on the other side will remain open. Each side will be fully closed at some point.

The closures are necessary for crews to pour concrete for the new 7th Street bridge, which is scheduled to open in April.

Transportation officials urged travelers to take detours to avoid the closure.
