14,100 Edison customers lose power in storm

Some 14,100 Southern California Edison customers were without power Saturday afternoon because of storm-related outages, officials said.

The hardest-hit communities included Adelanto, Cudahy, Cypress, Lake Arrowhead, Malibu, Oxnard and Santa Ana, according to company spokesman Paul Klein.

“Crews are working as fast as they can to restore power,” he said. “But as the storm continues to move through the region, it can cause additional outages.”

Klein reminded people to stay clear of downed power lines and, if they do lose power, to avoid lighting candles, which can cause fires.
