Warm weather to continue Friday before cool-down hits region

Warm weather at Venice Beach
Above-normal temperatures were expected to continue into Friday as high pressure pushes warm offshore winds across the region, forecasters said Thursday night.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s in inland areas before dropping about 10 degrees on Saturday as cooler ocean breezes begin to blow, the National Weather Service said.

On Thursday, it was 83 degrees in Woodland Hills and 84 degrees in Simi Valley, the National Weather Service said.

Downtown Los Angeles topped out at 79 degrees and Hawthorne hit 80.

In Orange County, Lake Forest was 83 and Santa Ana was 81, according to the Weather Service.

In the Inland Empire, Riverside Airport recorded a high of 84 degrees and San Bernardino reached 85.
