February 1, 2012 |  2:03 pm

A senior at the UC Santa Barbara has been arrested on suspicion of firebombing a Sheriff's Department Isla Vista foot patrol substation on New Year's Day, department officials said.

Keith KeiKeiper Keithper, 23, was arrested last week on suspicion of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the front of the substation, causing minor damage.

No one was injured.

Keiper, who lives in Isla Vista, is being held at Santa Barbara County Jail on $250,000 bail on suspicion of felony arson of an inhabited dwelling.

A similar November attack, however, remains unsolved.

Sheriff's officials said on Nov. 15, a lone figure was seen throwing two Molotov cocktails, causing minor damage to the front of the building and smashing the windshield of a patrol car.

Investigators have not determined whether the two incidents are connected.
