An 18-year-old man has been arrested and booked on suspicion of sexual assault, attempted murder and home invasion robbery in an attack on a Stevenson Ranch woman, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Jerry Moon, of Stevenson Ranch, was arrested earlier this month. He allegedly broke into a house on Holmes Place in unincorporated Santa Clarita on Jan. 8, where he robbed and sexually assaulted a woman who lives there, authorities said.

Detectives with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department put Moon's home under surveillance before arresting him Feb. 16. On a search of his residence, they found evidence connecting him with the sexual assault and home invasion, they said.

Moon was booked Thursday on suspicion of attempted murder, home invasion robbery, kidnapping and rape. He was being held in lieu of $2.45 million bail, and was scheduled to appear Tuesday in San Fernando Superior Court.
