Plugged in: Documentary photographer and writer Sahra Sulaiman snapped this shot near Crenshaw Boulevard and Stocker Street in South Los Angeles with her Pentax K-x, 18-55 mm lens on Jan 21. Sulaiman was at a dedication ceremony for Patrick Henry Johnson's mural "Elixir." Pictured is Noah, the son of Conney Williams, a poet who participated in the ceremony that evening.

"It amused me that he eschewed the hustle and bustle of the ceremony and plunked himself down several feet away so he could listen to his music or whatever it was that he was doing," said Sulaiman.
