Postman dies after his legs were severed by car

A 32-year-old U.S. Postal Service carrier whose legs were severed in a vehicle accident has died, police said Wednesday night.

Earl Anthony Dunn, who lived in Compton, was pinned between his truck and a car in the 1100 block of Prado Street in Boyle Heights on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The postal carrier had been standing behind his truck when the driver of a car veered into him, police said.

The driver was operating his car with a revoked license, Officer Karen Rayner said.
