One dead, four wounded in Hawthorne restaurant shooting


Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives on Saturday are investigating a restaurant shooting in Hawthorne that left one person dead and four others wounded.

The shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the Den, near the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Imperial Highway, authorities said.

One victim died from his injuries, but it was unclear if he died at the scene or at a local hospital. The other victims -- all men -- were transported to area hospitals.

The motive for the shooting and conditions of the other victims are unknown.
