Matt Garza's American League championship ring stolen

Matt Garza's championship ALS ring was stolen, authorities said
The Fresno County home of Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Garza was burglarized and his 2008 American League championship ring was stolen, authorities told the Fresno Bee

Garza played in the championship when he was with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Garza, a former standout at Washington High School in Fresno, was the Most Valuable Player in the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox.

The ring was valued at $30,000, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office told the Bee. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities at (559) 488-3111.
