Marine from Camp Pendleton fatally shot by O.C. sheriff's deputy

A Marine from Camp Pendleton was killed in an early morning confrontation with an Orange County sheriff's deputy, the Marine Corps announced Wednesday.

The confrontation occurred about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot at San Clemente High School. Details have not been released.

The Marine Corps declined to release the Marine's name until relatives are notified.
