Light snow falls on Grapevine during evening rush-hour commute

Light snow was beginning to fall on the Grapevine on Monday evening during the rush-hour commute, officials said.

The snow was not sticking on the roadway, and no traffic collisions had been reported in the area, the California Highway Patrol said.

The National Weather Service said that snow levels were expected to drop to 3,000 feet, creating potential problems for motorists on the Grapevine and California 14 in the Antelope Valley through Tuesday morning.

The CHP said that it was monitoring safety conditions on the Grapevine. No other details were immediately available.
