LAPD cruiser involved in San Fernando Valley collision

Map: Approximate location of crash. Credit: GoogleA Los Angeles Police Department cruiser was involved in a traffic collision Wednesday in the San Fernando Valley, officials said.

The collision occurred at 6:40 a.m. in Lake Balboa at Vanowen Street and Louise Avenue, just north of the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, according to LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.

The extent of possible injuries, an explanation of how the crash happened and how many other vehicles were involved were not immediately available.
