Girl killed, mother injured by hit-and-run driver in O.C.

Deadly hit and run near Anaheim
A young girl was killed and her mother was critically injured Wednesday night in a hit-and-run traffic accident in an unincorporated area near Anaheim, authorities said.

The hit-and-run driver was in a vehicle that may have been stolen, authorities said. Officers found the vehicle in the area, but were looking for the driver.

The accident was reported about 8:30 p.m. near Guinida Lane and Gilbert Street, the California Highway Patrol said. The girl who died was believed to be 3 years old.

No other details were immediately available.
