El Cajon man kicked dog to death, police say

A 23-year-old El Cajon man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally kicking a Chihuahua, police said Friday.

Troy Anthony Hilliard was arrested and booked Thursday into San Diego County jail on a felony charge of animal cruelty.

Hilliard repeatedly kicked the 4-year-old dog named Chico and threw it into a fence when the dog wandered into a neighbor's yard, police said. Hilliard was visiting with the neighbor. The dog died at the scene.
