Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Channel Islands Beach
A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon 21 miles from Channel Islands Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:15 p.m. PST at a depth of 5.0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 22 miles from Port Hueneme, 24 miles from Oxnard and 68 miles from Los Angeles Civic Center.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
