Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Pinnacles

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Saturday afternoon one mile from Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:36 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from Soledad, 17 miles from Greenfield, 24 miles from King City and 69 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the last ten days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
