February 6, 2012 |  9:51 pm

A Burbank brother and his sister have been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a dog to death in a crime that police described as "pretty horrific."

The cocker spaniel mix was allegedly stabbed repeatedly Saturday with an 8-inch blade by Charissa Bodtcher, 23, and her brother, Timo Bodtcher, the Burbank Police Department said.

Their mother, Maria Theresa Bodtcher, 47, was also arrested on suspicion of helping them get rid of the knife near a dumpster at a shopping mall near Victory Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, according to a report in the Burbank Leader.
