Derek Simmons, a former USC lineman, was arrested Friday on suspicion of felony domestic violence, according to Los Angeles Police Department officials.

Simmons, a reserve lineman for the Trojans who completed his eligibility in 2010, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. after officers were called to the scene in the 700 block of South Carondelet Street, police said.

Simmons allegedly punched a woman, law enforcement sources say.

He was booked at the LAPD’s Rampart Division and was being held on $50,000 bail.
