As the weather heats up, Santa Ana winds will return to Southern California on Tuesday night and into Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

Gusts of about 40 mph were expected in mountains and valleys in Los Angeles and Orange counties and the Inland Empire beginning in the evening, forecasters said.

The winds, coming from the northeast, will help bring warm weather back to L.A., with highs in 60s and 70s on the coast and mid-80s inland Wednesday.
