1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting at Long Beach federal building

Two people were shot, at least one of them fatally, on Thursday afternoon at the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building in Long Beach, law enforcement authorities said.

At least one of the victims was a federal law enforcement officer, but it was not immediately clear from which agency. That person was taken by paramedics to St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach.

The Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building is at Ocean Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue in the downtown area. It houses customs and immigration agents, among other agencies.

No other details were immediately available.
