Big rig flips on Cajon Pass, killing driver

Big-Rig-Crash

This post has been corrected. See the note at the bottom for details.

A truck driver was killed Wednesday on the Cajon Pass when his big rigged flipped in a collision, the California Highway Patrol said.

The truck, a UPS rig pulling two trailers, collided with a car on northbound Interstate 15, and the driver lost control, witnesses said.

The truck careened off the side of the road, mangling the vehicle.

Three northbound lanes of the freeway near Oak Hill Road were closed as the CHP investigated. Two northbound lanes remained open.

[For the Record, Jan 25 at 9:36 a.m.: A previous version of this post mistakenly said the accident was caused by high winds.]
