Teens beat up Garden Grove clerk while stealing beer

Police were searching Friday for two teenagers who beat up a store clerk while stealing an 18-pack of beer in Garden Grove.

The suspects showed up at a Circle K market on the 12500 block of Knott Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Doug Pluard of the Garden Grove Police Department.

One entered the store and grabbed the beer and tried to walk out with it.

When the clerk asked for his ID, he and the other suspect charged at the clerk and began punching him, police said. A customer tried to help but was also attacked.

Both the customer and the clerk were not seriously hurt.

Surveillance video of the incident was released and police are asking anyone with information to call them at (714) 741-5704.
