Teacher suspected of being drunk in third-grade classroom

Deputies Respond to Elementary School Drunk Teacher Call

Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to an elementary school on a report that a teacher was drunk in the classroom.

The incident occurred Thursday at Susan La Vorgna Elementary School on Thursday.

According to authorities, school officials became suspicious over a hall pass the teacher wrote out that day. The teacher was removed from her third-grade classroom on suspicion of being intoxicated.

She was released to a family member, officials said.

But KTLA News said officials are mulling whether to file criminal child endangerment charges against her.
