Body found off 2 Freeway near Silver Lake may be missing woman

Family members of a woman reported missing shortly after Christmas believe a decomposed body  found near the 2 Freeway near Silver Lake is her.

KTLA-TV and KABC-TV reported that relatives of Breanna Jovette Guzman, 22, who went missing the day after Christmas, believe the body discovered Thursday in bushes near the Riverside Drive onramp to the freeway is Guzman.

A memorial was set up outside Guzman's family home Friday morning.

Guzman, known as Bree, told family members she was going to buy cold medicine. She left her home in the 2300 block of Humboldt Street in Lincoln Heights about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 26, but never returned.

L.A. County coroner's officials said the woman's body has not been formally identified. Detectives from the LAPD's robbery-homicide division were at the scene Friday, but no cause of death had been determined.
