Surf's up: Brent Skaff shot this photo of Venice Breakwater, a popular surfing spot off Venice Beach, on Friday. There was a high surf advisory for Los Angeles County beaches that day, explaining the large swell. Skaff captured this photo before a lifeguard yelled at him for being too close to the water.
