Christian school principal accused of lewd acts on a child

January 12, 2012 |  8:36 am

The principal of a Christian school in West Covina was in custody Thursday on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a child, and police said they are looking for other possible victims.

Daniel Edwin Weston, principal of the Seventh Day Adventist Church School in West Covina, was arrested Tuesday by Whittier police over allegations that he touched a child younger than 14 in a sexual manner.

He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The incident allegedly occurred in January 2008, when Weston, 47, was the principal of the Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School in Whittier, police said.

Weston was principal of the kindergarten-through-eighth-grade school for seven years before he moved to the school in West Covina.
