Police shoot suspect in Monterey Park

A suspect was shot by Monterey Park police Monday morning, but few details about the incident were available.

Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives were dispatched to the area near the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue to investigate the shooting, which was reported around 9:30 a.m.

There were no immediate reports that any officers were hurt in the shooting. The condition of the suspect was not immediately disclosed by sheriff's or Monterey Park police officials.
