Escaped inmateOrange County deputies searched Thursday for an inmate who escaped from a city jail.

Scott Woodin, 39, was discovered missing about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Theo Lacy jail in the city of Orange, sheriff's officials told KTLA-TV.

Woodin was serving time for violating his probation in addition to resisting arrest, petty theft and drug possession and was assigned to kitchen duty, the TV station reported.

Woodin stands about 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark, short-sleeved smock, dark green pants and black work boots.

Aside from tracking down Woodin, sheriff's officials said they were still trying to determine how he escaped and got away.
