New details in fatal shooting at Hollywood Thai restaurant

UntitledNew details emerged Saturday morning in the fatal shooting at the Pink Pepper Thai restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard, one of several shootings overnight in L.A.

The shooting Friday night appears to have resulted from an argument on the patio of the eatery, police sources said. A man at the restaurant allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at a woman, who tried to grab the weapon.

During the struggle the woman, who was not identified, was shot once. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The man was shot twice. He is being treated at a local hospital.

Initially, it was reported that both of the victims were shot by two gunmen. Officials stressed police are still trying to sort out what exactly happened.

It was not clear if the man and woman knew each other, said Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Norma Eisenman.

It was one of half a dozen shootings in the city overnight, including three in South Los Angeles. There was also a gang-related shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded outside the Mayan nightclub downtown early Saturday morning.
