Man shot in jaw outside medical marijuana dispensary

A man was shot in the chin Tuesday night after a robbery near a medical marijuana dispensary in Tarzana.

The shooting occurred at the 19400 block of Ventura Boulevard about 7:40 p.m., said Sgt. Rudolph Valadez of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Valley Station.

The victim, who was behind the clinic, may have been involved in a nearby robbery, Valadez said.

Details of the shooting are not yet known, but the bullet entered the victim's jaw and exited his chin, Valadez said.

The victim was driven to a Tarzana hospital by a friend and his injuries are not life-threatening.
