Man killed in confrontation with Anaheim police officer

A man was shot and killed her by Anaheim police officer Tuesday
An Anaheim police officer shot and killed a man after a confrontation Thursday afternoon in a police station parking lot.

The officer reported over the radio about 1:15 p.m. that he had been in a shooting at the Anaheim Police Department's East Station in the 8200 block of East Santa Ana Canyon Road, Sgt. Bob Dunn said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators found "what appears to be a knife" within "very close proximity" to the shooting scene, Dunn said.

No additional details regarding the confrontation  were immediately available.

Investigators from the Orange County district attorney's office, which probes officer-involved shootings, were at the scene Thursday afternoon gathering evidence.
