Man fatally shot in suspected gang incident in Wilmington

A 40-year-old man died of multiple gunshot wounds Saturday morning in what authorities believe was a gang-related incident.

The victim, who has not immediately identified, was shot about 4:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of King Avenue in Wilmington, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman.

The victim was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance and was pronounced dead at 8 a.m., Eisenman said.
