Man was dumped here after being shot in Riverside on New Years eve, police said.
A man who had been on life support after being shot in the head in Riverside on New Year's Eve has died, police said Tuesday.

Vincent Delgado, 19, who suffered a single gunshot wound to the head, was placed in a vehicle and taken to Doane and Hole avenues in Riverside, where he was dumped on the street, police said.

Detectives later determined that Delgado had been shot about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at a nearby party, the Riverside Police Department said.

Delgado was declared brain dead Monday night, police said, but he was kept on life support until Tuesday to be an organ donor.

Police have arrested Ernie Moreno, 24, of Riverside on suspicion of being an accessory to attempted murder. He was being held Tuesday at the Robert Presley Detention Center in lieu of $1-million bail. Police said in a statement that they will seek an additional murder charge against Moreno.

Police are still looking for the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Jim Simons at (951) 353-7138 or Det. Ron Sanfilippo at (951) 353-7105.
