Man barricaded in Arleta home as SWAT officers respond

A man who barricaded himself inside an Arleta home Tuesday with a shotgun drew a swift response from officers with the LAPD's Special Weapons And Tactics unit.

Police received a call about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday about a possible assault with a deadly weapon in the 10000 block of Lev Avenue. When officers responded, they found the man with a shotgun, which he may have used to threaten other people, said LAPD Officer Wendy Reyes.

It is unknown whether the man used his weapon or if there were any victims in the home, Reyes said.

No other information was available.
